    December 2016

Year end Reviews are BORING – How about a Year of Celebration?

Your North Alabama Chapter for Talent Development has a lot to celebrate this year! We achieved a lot of great goals. Here are some of our accomplishments.

Corporate Sponsors – Huntsville Hospital Corporate University and Redstone Federal Credit Union became Corporate Sponsors this year. Those organizations sent numerous Employee Development Professionals to our luncheon workshops this year to sharpen their skills and stay abreast of the latest news and information in the Talent and Employee Development field.

Strategic Partners – This is a new group we engaged this year. Lane Fabby Leadership Solutions, Legacy Christian University, Flow Point Consulting, and STEEDS Consulting became Strategic Partners this year. Our Strategic Partners provide expert consultation, training to our members and/or financial support to the chapter.

Events – We hosted eight successful events facilitated by the most talented Corporate Trainers, Business Consultants, and Employee Development Leaders in the Huntsville area. We consistently received high feedback scores regarding these events and presenters. Topics ranged from Organizational Development Strategies for Huntsville City Schools, to Emotional Intelligence, to Gamification in the Workplace to Enhance Employee Engagement.

Membership – We maintained a strong level of membership and acquired new members and contacts, bringing vitality and new perspectives into our Chapter.

New Organization Name – ASTD went “bye-bye.” We are

now the Association for Talent Development. We achieved all of our branding and marketing goals, updated our by-laws, and completed all of our legal requirements to change the chapter name. Visit for more information.

Communication – The chapter has a strong presence now on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. We created a new website that improves our communication to our members and chapter contacts, plus increases the efficiency and effectiveness of our chapter operations. Please visit our website to connect with us on social media and stay informed regarding Chapter News and Events.

As you can see our chapter has been busy making improvements and engaging our Talent Development friends in the Tennessee Valley. Lastly, I’d like to recognize our Board Members who did an outstanding job in achieving all these goals and making our chapter a great place to serve and volunteer.

You may have noticed the ChIP 9022 code in the lower right corner of our home page. Why is this significant? This is the Chapter Incentive Program code that benefits our chapter. Each chapter of ATD have their own code which benefits that chapter financially.  If a member decides to become a national member as well as a chapter member, which will make them a POWER MEMBER, when they use this code to register nationally, the chapter will receive incentive money. If a member buys training or other materials from the TD store the chapter will also receive money from their purchase. This money can be used to improve events, fund additional functions and benefit members by helping us improve our chapter.

If you click on the ChIP9022 logo on our home page this will take you to the National ATD store where you can purchase materials and become a National member. Just be sure to include our ChIP code 9022 when you check out so the chapter and our members can benefit.

We encourage you to click the logo and check out what materials and National member or Power Member benefits can offer. If you do purchase don't forget the code 9022.
